If you already own an infrared sauna and you want to know how to use it more effectively so that the benefits will be enhanced, here are some tips that I think will be helpful.
Hot and Cold
You should immediately take a cold shower after stepping out of the sauna room. While this might seem crazy, it actually helps enhance the sauna experience. After taking a shower, rest for a bit and it's up to you if you want to re-enter the sauna for another session.
The hot and cold rotation works wonders because when you are inside the sauna, your pores are open and when you take a cold shower immediately after, your pores will close up. This is great for you and while it might seem hard to do at first due to the extreme change in temperature, it will eventually become easier.
Repeat the hot and cold sessions as much as you want to your liking.
You want to stay hydrated during and after your sauna session so that you won't run the risk of dehydration. Since you are in a high temperature environment and you will be sweating a lot, you should be wary of getting dehydrated due to all the liquid that will come out of your body. However, don't be alarmed, as long as you drink plenty of water before and after the sauna session, the chances of getting dehydrated is very very slim.
Don't Stay in too long
If you are really enjoying the sauna, you might stay in for too long and this can be counterintuitive. You are using the sauna for its health benefits but if you stay inside the sauna room too long, you might encounter issues instead. The recommended time to stay inside the sauna is around 10-15 mins. per session but you can increase that to your liking as long as you are still comfortable and you don't feel anything wrong.
